Our Carers

The Encounter Group (Encounter Live-In-Care Specialists) Limited, we believe that our careers are the most important aspect of our service. They are the face of our company. That is why we focus so much energy on making sure they are the best they can be.

Our carers receive ongoing training and support to ensure that they are able to provide the best possible care.

The Encounter Group (Encounter Live-In-Care Specialists) Limited we carefully match clients with carers who will best meet their needs – from a service perspective and in terms of good personality matches. It’s also of comfort to know that you can always ask us to switch your carer(s) if you feel there could be a better fit for your loved one.


Hannah Clemence – Registered Manager

Hannah is a Registered Manager who has over 13 years’ experience in care caring for individuals with dementia, strokes, end of life, mental health problem, young adults with autism, learning disabilities, spinal injuries and companionship for the elderly. Through working in care industry she gained skills in incontinence management, using walking aids, hoisting, calming clients suffering from anxiety, dealing with dementia sufferers, peg feeds, housekeeping, doctors’ appointments and monitoring customer’s health.

Hannah Clemence hold a BA (Hons) in Business Management  and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management obtained at The University of Teesside, Tees Valley, Middlesbrough, UK. She is currently working towards achieving Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.


Douglas Takawira – Operations Director

Mr Douglas Takawira is the Operations Director who has over 8 years’ experience in home care environment and has worked with an NHS doctor with spinal injury in London. He has worked with this client for well over 3 years and have done some travelling with his client in Southern Africa and according to his client he did not want to come back to the UK as he had the most enjoyable holiday of his life time.

With this in mind Douglas is a valuable member of staff in setting up desirable care standards for the Encounter Group (Encounter Live-In-Care Specialists) Limited as required by the Care Quality Commission. He is directly involved in recruitment and selection of staff within Encounter Live-In Care Specialists Limited.


Laureen Takawira – Director

Laureen Takawira is one of the Director and also the Company Secretary, she will be for day-to-day administrative functions that make a home care agency successful.

She supports Hannah Clemence to build a good reputation and client base for the business.  She has excellent customer services obtained whilst working as an Assistant Manager for different retail companies.

Laureen holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and Law and is well verse with the laws of the UK especially contract law where we believe she is a useful  asset in our Human Resources Department


Gladys Takawira – Director

Gladys Takawira is a Deputy Operation Director who is responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in providing leadership to the administration, care operation management such as care services managers  and function maintenance of the agency.

Gladys is currently working as a live-in support worker which gives her hands-on experience working with clients and can relate to our carers. She has an outstanding customer service, a very friendly individual who has worked closely caring for the elderly, end of life for 2 years and her reputation to building strong customer relationships is an important part of our business.
